EOTD - TAUPES AND PLUMS FROM CHI CHI SULTRY PALETTE

Morning poppets!

I have to run off to uni now but a quick EOTD post. I was actually a bit excited to get up this morning just so I could use this. I used the 6th, 7th and 8th shades in this palette. It took longer to do than usual because these are so pigmented, I kept having to re blend and re apply, not the shadows fault, I'm just not used to such soft shadows

Hello :)

Just another quick EOTD using the Chi Chi Sultry Palette, I'm so obsessed with this palette already! You can check out the swatches and reviews in one of my last posts here!

I used the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th shades for this look which I think in the end turned out a bit barbie-ish but that's not a bad thing right? Everyone loved Barbie at some stage in their childhood. I think it's the pink lips which is Australis Colour Inject lipstick in Salsa.

I went out to find the Classics palette today, but still no luck :(

Keen to start playing with the Oasis one too

CHI CHI CLASSICS PALETTE WITH SWATCHES

An awesome everyday eyeshadow palette by Chi Chi. If I could go back in time and knew this was coming out, I wouldn't have bought the NUDES palette, There's more matte colours in this palette and I can get more looks out of it.

Matte Cream Beige, Matte Light Brown, Matte Mid Brown, Frosty Champagne, Shimmery Reddish Brown, Mauve with Gold Shimmers

Matte Light Mauve, Peachy Gold, Frosty Light Beige, Shimmery Light Taupe, Matte Navy, Matte Charcoal
I tried to describe these colours the best I can, hopefully my photos describe the colours better than I did. I would love this palette more if I didn't feel so guilty for already having so many day-safe conservative shades but it's more useful to me than the NUDES one which I felt had too many similar shades within the same palette. CLASSICS for the win!

What do you think of this palette? Will you be running out to get it as well?

NEW VIDEOS AND CHANGES!

Good 2am Everybody!

I love holidays because it means I've finally been able to catch up with blogging and making videos again! Just an update of my latest videos and I've got another two already edited and ready for uploading, yay!!!!

I don't know if you guys have noticed but I just switched over to a custom domain. It took almost 5 hours of raiding through the internet to find answers and it was soooo painful since I had no idea what DNS was (I still don't) and I didn't want to learn it either. Eventually, I got it all sorted (I hope!) so hoping to spruce up this blog and my YouTube channel a bit to make it all look a little less crappy :)

By the way, since I had such a horrible experience trying to do all this, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a tutorial for dummies on how to switch over to a custom domain? It's a bit irrelevant for this blog but I figured, with the very recent changes to Blogger, most the information out there is now useless and it took me 4 hours to work that out :(

Anyway here are my latest videos and you can check out my channel here. Gotta learn how to make cute buttons!

Hi :)

So my boyfriend was nice enough (and keen) to have a go at doing galaxy nails for me. He's obviously never done nails before so I think he did a pretty damn good job. I wouldn't have been able to do much better really.

This be the things I've enjoyed using for the month of June :)

  1. Australis Pretty Pastels Palette Blush: Gorgeous matte rosy pink that is pigmented but still easy to blend and work with
  2. Maybelline Hyper Diamonds Eyeshadow in Berry Diamonds: Gorgeous wearable colours I been wearing nearly everyday.
  3. Chi Chi Sultry Palette: Love the colours in this and the shadows are soft, creamy and highly pigmented.
  4. Rimmel Max Bold Curves Mascara: The best Rimmel mascara I've tried in years, good volume and subtle curling power on my lashes.
  5. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Heart Breaker: Beautiful colour when I want something darker and bold but still safe for daytime.
  6. Mirenesse Forever Lipstick in Pierre: Amazing lipstick formulation, glides on so smoothly, lasts ages and has a unique sweet scent without being overly sweet.
  7. Armani Code Femme: Favourite perfume for this month. I can't describe scents but to me, it smells more mature and classy. A perfect night time scent (even though I wear it during the day as well).

2013 SWITCHING FROM BLOGSPOT TO A CUSTOM DOMAIN

Hi!
For ages I wanted to change my Blogspot URL to something a little less lame. I didn't want to use a custom domain because I didn't want to pay for it and assumed it would be much harder to redirect posts, traffic etc.

Long story short, turns our custom domains are pretty easy and don't cost much at all. It automatically redirects your old posts and any old links on other websites. So if you linked your blog on a forum months ago, anyone who clicks that link will be automatically taken to the same post under the new domain. Also you can no longer buy domains through Blogger.

The main problem I had was that all the information and tutorials out there, were out of date (took me 3 hours to realise that) and I couldn't find the information I needed. 4 and a half hours later, I called up customer service and the lady was amazing! She talked me through the entire process which only took 10-15 minutes.

Here is a basic tutorial on HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BLOGSPOT URL TO  A CUSTOM DOMAIN THROUGH GODADDY. This is just a walk through of everything I did without having to learn a thing.

Step 1: Set up the custom domain on GoDaddy.com for example 'mynewfullysickblog'. I paid ~$10 for mine

Step 2: Put the new URL (www.mynewfullysickblog.com) into this Blogger/GoDaddy DNS wizard. I honestly don't know if this is neccessary, it's just something I tried before calling customer service so I don't know if it helped.

Step 3: Log into your GoDaddy Account:

My Account > Domains and click the big green 'Launch' button > Click the domain name (mynewfullysickblog) > DNS Zone File

Step 4: New tab/window. Go back to your Blogger settings > basic and under the publishing, press '+add your own custom domain'

Step 5: Type in you new URL www.mynewfullysickblog.com, some scary error message looking stuff will come up.

Step 6: Press 'setting instructions' and select 'Top-level domain'.

Step 7: When you scroll down, you'll be given 4 IP's. Copy and paste those on a sticky note or something

Step 8: Copy and paste this gibberish highlighted in grey onto a sticky note or something as well

Step 9: Go back to your GoDaddy window where you were in DNS Zone file. Under A(Host), press 'Quick Add'

Step 10: In the left column titled 'Host' type '@' and under the right column titled 'Points To', paste the first Google IP.

Step 11: Repeat this for the other 3 IPs, typing '@' in the left, and pasting the IP in the right.

Step 12: Under CNAME, paste the second set of gibberish into the respective fields.

Under Host: 'www' and 'aeedeekgvgsr'
Under Points To: 'ghs.google.com' and 'gv-ux3s77ddrkdrhk.dv.googlehosted.com'

After all that, you should be done!

I'm sorry if this doesn't work for you, this is just what I did and it worked fine for me. I reccomend call up GoDaddy 24/7 Customer Service. They're based in the states but the website provides local phone numbers. I spoke to a lady named Laura and she was amazing! Couldn't have done this without her.

ROSEHIP PLUS SKIN BOOST ROLL-ON REVIEW

$

Hello :)

Today I am reviewing a new skincare treatment that you can keep in your bag for treatments on the go!

"With its massaging roller ball applicator that allows you to target specific areas that require precise application of the Rosehip Oil, such as around the delicate eye area and lip area, on small dry patches and even on scarring" - Rosehip Plus

This is Australian Certified Organic Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil. That's a long description but all you need to know is the oil is extracted in the purest way possible to maintain its high quality.

It comes in a little 15ml tube with a metal roller ball to massage it into your skin and also stops the tube from getting messy. I've kept this in my bag and the oil stays in the tube, doesn't get all over the outside or my other belongings so that's a plus.

I've used this all over my face and it felt great on  the skin. Nice and light without being overly greasy but I still woke up with softer, more nourished skin.

The big test came when I used it on these dry patches on my arm. I don't know what these patches are but they started appearing a few months ago as dry, rough textured skin and now they're itchy and occasionally red. I tried using this product on that area and it did help to soothe the itchiness and moisturise the area but still not enough.

This oil aims to protect your skin from damage and acts as an anti-ageing treatment. It's handbag friendly so if you find yourself discovering dry patches on your face throughout the day, it would be handy to keep one of these in your bag. Would also be ideal for keen Rosehip oil fans needing one that's travel friendly.

It retails at $14.95 for 15ml which is very reasonable considering the prices of most Rosehip Oils and you get it at most Pharmacies.

This was provided for reivew, not getting paid or compensated in any way, opinions are my own.

WINTER SKIN SAVERS - BEAT DRY SKIN THIS WINTER!

HI!

By now your skin may be getting a bit dry and troublesome. It looks dull and makeup grabs on it making you look cakey and grose. I've put together a little list of some products that have really come through for me this season to help me tackle the cold dry weather.

1. Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz: I used to just use this to help restore 'normality' to my skin finish to help it look more natural. I spray this over my face right after doing my foundation and powder to prevent any dry patches from showing through my makeup and it does help to hydrate the skin.

2. Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner: Best toner I've ever used! Reconditions my skin after cleansing to stop the dry tight feeling and has really helped keep my skin hydrated this winter. Definite repurchase!

3. Nude by Nature Nude Oil: A great oil treatment for the face that rehydrates skin and may help with scarring and uneven skin tone. Doesn't break me out and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the cold dry night as I sleep.

4. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil: Awesome to use all over the body for very dry skin. I love it for Winter because it quickly warms to your hand and doesn't feel cold on your body. It feels so light on the skin and absorbs instantly leaving my skin feeling extra soft. Would buy this over and over again!

5. LUSH Ultrabalm: A vegan friendly alternative to Vaseline. Has really helped to soothe problem dry itchy skin on my upper arms when used as a barrier cream.

6. LUSH Mint Julips: A mint chocolate lip scrub that effectively scrubs off dry dead skin to leave your lips soft and slightly moisturised with the oil in it. You can lick it off or if you prefer not to, easily rinses off.

7. Palmers Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Lip Butter: Another mint chocolate lip treat! Works great after the Mint Julips lip scrub, smells great and keeps lips soft and hydrated. It's clear so you can't go wrong and gives a subtle gloss.

What products have saved your skin this Winter?

This blush is beautiful! It's a sheer peach with fine gold shimmer through it. I've been wearing it everyday since I got it.

Such a universal shade that I think would flatter all skintones. It would show up peach on fair skintones and a gorgeous golden highlight on darker skintones.

You can get this blush here: http://www.ry.com.au/sugar-bomb.html. RY (Recreate Yourself) is Aussie based and better yet, they price match so you know you're getting the best deal!

ESSENCE SUPER FINE VS. NAPOLEON NEO NOIR LIQUID EYELINERS

Hello!

I thought I'd just do a little comparison of these two eyeliners because I found them to be pretty similar. First up we have the Essence Super Fine Eyeliner Pen (1ml, rrp $3.95). A smudge-proof, longwearing formula with a high precision application. Next we have the Napoleon Neo Noir Liquid Liner (1.2ml rrp $32), super smooth application and waterproof for up to 6 hours.

Let's start with the applicator. Both have very similar long tapered felt tips which are soft an flexible at the end. They are the same length but the Napoleon one is thicker around the base which enables you to draw a thicker line.

Now the application. The Napoleon liner applies smooth, opaque and black in the first stroke. The Essence one requires a bit more pressure and requires layering to build up the intensity.

As for the longevity? I unfortunately don't have photos but neither of these are smudgeproof or waterproof (the Essence one does not claim to be waterproof). They last decently on the lids as long as you don't fall into any pools or ball your eyes crying when you watch the series finale of Friends.

You may also want to note the Essence liner tends to dry out after each use. You need to store it upside down to keep the product soaking the felt tip.

Overall, I prefer the Napoleon Liner because it applies so smoothly and wonderfully making it easier to wing out your eyeliner. However for a fraction of the price, the Essence one is not bad at all.

EDIT: The Essence one stains your skin!

I received the Napoleon Neo Noir Liquid Liner from RY who sell a range of cosmetics, skincare, fragrances, hair tools and more. Check them out here: http://www.ry.com.au/. Like I mentioned in my last post, they do price matching, cheap shipping rates and great customer service!!!

FOTD - GOTH MERLOT

Hi!

I've been seriously (like seriously!) lusting after the Lime Crime Lipstick in Poisonberry BUT since I can't afford it, I started looking around for a cheaper alternative. I wasn't even sure if the colour would suit me so I wanted to just get the cheapest lippie I could find that was close to the gorgeous purple that is Poisonberry.

I bought a BYS lipstick in Spiced Merlot. I don't think the colours are exactly the same but I do believe somewhat similar from looking at swatches. Spiced Merlot is coming off more pink in the photos but it really looks dark plummy purple on the lips.

I quite like the colour so it inspired me to do a goth style makeup look. It's a dark grey with plum and burgandy shades in the crease and outer corner. Big ass lashes and I used eyeliner to draw some lashes on the bottom lashline.

Eyeshadows used:
  • Chi Chi Grey from Brights Palette
  • L'oreal Infallible in Burning Black
  • Chi Chi Burgandy from Brights Palette
  • Urban Decay Deluxe in Freakshow

What do you guys think?

(Sorry for irregular looking photos, the first one was taken using my new phone, the HTC One. I've never played around with the filters or anything before, pretty fun!)

EOTD + ORANGE LIPS - TIP FOR MONOLID AND ASYMMETRICAL EYES

Hi :)

So I just posted in the Beautyheaven EOTD forum as usual, (sweetest babes in the world in that thread) and a few days ago, someone had written a comment about how lucky some of us (including me) are to have our eye shapes because they can't wear eyeshadow. Ease up turbo!

It was a surprise to me because I've always felt I have very disappointing eye lids. They are small and the area is very flat so I can't do any hectic contouring and cool shit like Leesha or MissChevious. To make it worse, my eyes aren't even the same. It's a bit embarrassing to admit but some of you may have probably already noticed from some of my photos and already had a cheeky giggle to yourselves.

Anyway, I thought I would share my thoughts that I just posted in that thread in hopes to encourage some of you guys to experiment with eyeshadows. It took me a while to understand what works for me and I'm still not sure if I'm doing it the best I can.

"In the spirit of the previous comment, here is BOTH eyes. One way to tackle asymmetrical eyelids is with eye false lashes. If you apply them a certain way on the monolid eye, it may create a crease when you look up. Try it out if you got cheeky eyes like mine. It’s my right eye (left in the photo) that is usually monolid. It’s not completely fool proof but combined with dark eyeshadow, it’s a lot less noticeable.

Also, NO NEED TO BE SHY! Most people don’t even notice your eyelids, they’re too worried about themselves so smile BIG in photos because you’ll regret not having those memories ones day :D"

I think I may have found a way to wear my orange lipstick. Do you think it suits?

ALSO, I FINALLY GOT INSTAGRAM!! I'm still not sure how to use it but I put up an awesome picture today if you could please check it out and let me know what you think?

JULY 13' FAVOURITES/EMPTIES

I'm going to try something new for my blog. Since I don't have as much time as I used to, I want to see if I can combine my Favourites and Empties in a single post. I'm not sure if I will keep this up but we'll see aye?

FAVOURITES:

  1.  Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 220: To be honest, I'm only using this because it's my only foundation that isn't too dark for me and it has a strong yellow base which I love! If it wasn't for that, I probably would have binned it long ago because it does make your face feel greasy and look shiny but it has been bearable this winter because my skin has been dry and it's hydrating.
  2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 20 Sand: Covers great and very easy to blend. It has very high coverage so a teeny tiny bit will go a very long way.
  3. Rimmel Volume Flash Max Bold Curves Mascara: Builds volume and length quickly with some good lift. I like the brush because it's not stupidly big and the bristles are the ideal length to work the product into my eyelashes.
  4. BYS Spiced Merlot Lipstick: This lipstick was featured in my FOTD - Goth Merlot post and got some good feedback from you guys (thanks!)
  5. Mirenesse Forever Lipstick in Pierre: A repeat I believe (sorry!) but I have really been wearing this nearly everyday. It is a dark oxblood colour but I think it's totally wearable during the winter time so I want to get the most out of it before Spring kicks in. As I've said before, the formula is amazeballs!
  6. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Facial Cleansing Wipes: My new favourite cleansing wipes. Leave me face feel soft, smooth and most importantly, clean! No residue like I experience with other wipes.

EMPTIES:
The last two months, I've had so many empties as I've been trying to clear out my bathroom to make space for more important things like...towels?

This month I don't have as many but they're product's I've really scraped through to get every last bit because I love them so much!

  • Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse: This was in my June favourites and has been one of the best foundations I have ever tried which makes me so sad that it's gone. The colour 240 Natural Beige was a perfect winter colour for me, coverage was enough to make my skin look good without looking like a mask and it was just such a good cream foundation. BRING IT BACK MAYBELLINE!!! It's the only product I like from the dream line.
  • Clean & Clear In Shower Facial (not pictured): Great scrub and skin treatment that works with the steam in your shower to help penetrate your pores. The only product I've ever noticed to actually help clear pimples. Going to repurchase! (When I use up my other stuff or when I get desperate for it. I was going to get it when Priceline had 40% off but the store I went to didn't stock it, bummer!)
  • Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner: Featured in my Winter Skin Savers post. This is the best toner I've ever tried. I've already repurchased it :)
  • Rimmel Royal Gloss in Cookie: Also discontinued :( It smells like cookies, nuff said!

PERFUME COLLECTION!

Just a couple of my perfumes, you can see the rest in my video below :)

Hi!

Today I wanted to share my perfume collection. If you've been following me from the beginning, you'd know how much I love perfume bottles. I was a 2012 BlogStar Winner because of this :). Should I do more of them?

I've already done reviews on some of these perfumes already so I just wanted to quickly talk about my three newest ones:

Midnight Heat, Heat Rush, Heat

While I'm not a fan of the design of the bottle, especially as it gets bigger, I LOVE how cute and awesome these three look together. I want to turn them into pendant lamps!

Heat: The first one to come out of this collection around the same time as the first Pulse. This is my favourite of the 3. It's a warm heavy sweet scent. Makes me think of thick stick syrup so it can come off strong if you're not crazy about sweet perfumes.

Midnight Heat: My least favourite which is a shame because I love the colours of the bottle. It's supposed to be a fruity floral but the fruit doesn't really stand out to me probably because the standout fruits are plum and starfruit. What? I prefer berries, citrus, apples and pear notes.

Heat Rush: Also a pretty good one. It's lighter fruity floral where the fruit is a lot more noticeable. Blood orange, passionfruit and cherry? Yum!

You can check out my thoughts on the rest of my collection below:

Hello!

I really wish I had more time to play around with makeup. I love creating looks inspired by things I love. I used to do perfume bottles (I'm still keen to do more) but at the moment I've been mirin' my shoes :D

This look was inspired by my favourite pair of shoes, Nike Air Max 90s in "Black/White-Volt-Blue-Glow"

I created this look using the Chi Chi Oasis Palette.

WHAT'S THE BEST BRONZER OUT THERE?

If you read my blog regularly, you would know that hashbrowns are delicious! Nah you don't need to have read my blog to know that, we all know they are like eating crunchy little sunrises...I'm in such a weird mood, I've missed blogging.

Let's talk bronzers please.

I used to be obsessed with them. I promise I wasn't one of those orange girls covered in dirty bronzer, I was pretty dark back in high school. I just loved a good bronzer that could give a warm glow to my face. This was back before I wore blush.

Anyway, I used to have heaps and then my OCD kicked in which I will talk about in the near future and now I only have one. The Body Shop Bronzing Powder in Medium Matte. It's alright but I'm bored of it and doesn't even bronze my skin. It's so sheer I just use it as a face powder.

So my question to you, my lovely readers:

What's the best bronzer out there?

Cheap as chips or bank breaking, I need something that will make me glow like some Chloe Morello-esque goddess in a gold bikini, clad in gold bling, laying on the sand by the water. Know anything that could get me close to that?
