This has been around since I first ever saw an Australis stand around 6 years ago. It's taken 6 years for me to try it out. I'll admit, the relatively recent revamp of Australis has really changed my perception of the brand. It is one of, if not my favourite Australian brand. (Chi Chi wins on eyeshadows which are my favourite makeup product)
This foundation claims to give a luminous natural finish that lasts all day and it has SPF 15 for that all important sun protection. It comes in a really nice frosted glass bottle with a pump and clear lid, better quality that L'oreal or Cover Girl pump bottles.
I have this in the shade Natural Tan which is the 4th of 5 shades. It was hard to find a shade that suited. The tone of Australis foundations is weird. They're not really warm or cool, but this weird peach tone which just looked off on everyone which is why people say their foundations are all 'orange'. Golden Tan looked like it would be a good match for olive skin tones as it had a nice yellow/green base when I swatched it but it was too dark (NC40) and I wanted a foundation for when my skin coming out of winter.
It looks 'off' on my skin and does seem to oxidise slightly and get darker.
This foundation applies and blends into the skin smoothly and easily. It does give good medium to almost full coverage with a gorgeous matte but luminous finish. I really dig the finish this gives.
Smilin' like an idiot :D Myself wearing the foundation. |
It's not the most longwearing foundation I've tried but I can confidently wear it for around 8 hours in comfortable conditions without having to worry.
You get a little less product that usual, not sure why there's only 23ml but there are frequent sales with Australis and you can get it at the moment for just $10. Bahhhhgin.
If you're lucky enough to find a shade that suits you, I would suggest getting it. It's a great foundation for the price and I think this would be fine for most skin type, oily or dry.
I've done another demo video for this if you would like to see it being applied.
